Speaking of technology, it has allowed me to read your paper on the Lazio case in Eureka. My name is Mark Johnsen and I am the son of Melvin Johnsen. Every now and then I try to assemble a little of the family history. Thank you for your research and well written paper; it will be interesting for my children to read something about the grandfather they never knew.
My father loved Eureka and felt that the tidelands case would provide a lasting benefit to the citizens at both the city and state level. I am sure he would be disappointed to see how it has played out. Would you share with me your personal assessment of the case? Do you have any material that did not make it into your paper that you'd think could be of personal interest to me? I would guess nearly everything is in the collection at HSU, which I'd love to see. I am living outside of Washington, DC, however, and getting back to Eureka isn't feasible.
You may think you know me, but you don't. Don't feel bad; I don't know me, either. You may catch a glimpse of me in these posts. At least, that's what I'm hoping to do.
